Wagon Train Round-up

The final stop for the 89er Wagon Train Association's 31st Annual Land Run Ride was at the 89er Day Wagon Train Round-up. Festivities included a chance to see the wagons and hear the stories of their trail rides; a bluegrass jam session; and barbecue feed.

The 2009 theme was

 

"Stake Your Claim ... Make it Green!"

 

 

 

The parade route started at Norman High School, at Main and Pickard, and went East down Main Street to Crawford Ave.

 

Grand Marshal of the 2009 parade is lifelong Norman resident and editor of The Norman Transcript, Andy Rieger.

Chili, cornbread, cookies, water and soda were served on the front porch of the Moore-Lindsey House. People brought lawn chairs or blankets on a beautiful day to listen to the following fantastic bands:

12:00 Noon - Okie Stompers

1:00 PM - The Bertye Maddux Band

2:15 PM - John Arnold Band

3:30 PM - Southbound Mule

4:45 - Greystone Bluegrass Revival
