The Norman 89er Day Committee is an all volunteer
committee that organizes the activities each year to
celebrate the anniversary of the Great Land Run of
1889 which opened the "Unassigned Lands" in central
Oklahoma for settlement on April 22, 1889.
Norman 89er Day is funded by the City of
Norman, and donations from individuals and
businesses .
